 ,Question 1: Understanding research methods and interpreting research data
1.           Introduction – an overview of your understanding of the significance of the topic

-Sexualisation of women and Superhero films
-Being comparable to action films based on attitudes and storylines addressed
-2016 have an increased in superhero films in UK and Ireland
-increase in Superhero TV shows
-Sky TV: DC Superhero shows
-Fandoms- their identity (cosplay)




2.           What are the Conclusions made of the article [executive summary] and what connections are there to theories (Audience) and debates (Technology positive or negative impact)?

-Female Superheroes are sexualized in the movies
-Comics book have declined massively in the latter part of the 20th century
-Superhero TV shows have become more popular than movies
-Superheroes- negative impact on young boys
-Superhero fatigue-
-More men go and see the movie
-Cosplay consumption- U&G theory





3.           Analyse & Evaluate the research methodology used – surveys? Interviews?
How suitable are the tools they chose?
Are they collecting the right data to support these findings?

-Secondary sources (Quotes, online research, opinions from people)
-Methodology is mostly secondary research





4.           Which Qualitative AND Quantitative data is presented in the findings and how balanced is it?

-Qualitative research: quotes, interviews, online websites which state opinions rather than facts- reliable
-Quantitative research: stats, chars/graphs, percentages.
-There are more Quantitative research than qualitative in the article




5.           How Trustworthy is the qualitative compared to the quantitative?
Is it valid or reliable?
Is there any bias?

-Quantitative research: includes stats, charts/graphs/percentages- trustworthy as it presents the research- all valid facts and information
-Qualitative research- isn’t 100% trustworthy- can be biased since its based mostly on opinions and online research- not reliable
-Qualitative research could be bias as it is other people's opinions
